Report on the real situation on the ground
Following the Withdrawal of Non-Organic Troops from the Lanny Jaya Region on August 20, 2025, the Lanny Jaya Regional Care Forum, along with all the people of Beam and Kwiyawagi, met. The government instead launched the deployment and deployment of non-organic troops in Melagai District and the surrounding Kwiyawagi area.
This is seen as a serious threat to the security, comfort, and safety of the Kwiyawagi community today.
The troop drop occurred on August 21, 2025, with approximately 9-10 vehicles heading directly to the new Kwiyawagi road. On Friday, August 22, 2025, at 7:39 PM, approximately 15 vehicles headed towards the Melagai-Neri Pinimbur district.
Today, Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 12:00 PM, 10 Strada vehicles loaded with military equipment and logistics moved up the new Kwiyawagi road.
Then, at 3:00 PM, approximately 12 Strada vehicles loaded with military equipment and logistics entered Wobiragi village, Melagai district.
Rumors circulating today in Tiom City indicate that non-organic TNI troops are changing troops. However, we are still questioning this because the vehicles carrying the troops were not returned with passengers (the old troops).
This is a serious challenge, and an urgent response is needed from the "Lanny Jaya Regional Care Forum" while awaiting the outcome of the action on August 20, 2025.
To ensure the protection, comfort, peace, and safety of the people of Melagai, Kwiyawagi, West Wano, Goa, Balim, and surrounding districts, the Forum must urgently address this issue with the government, especially the regional leaders and representatives of Lanny Jaya, to take immediate action. This will require the government to act quickly to guarantee the protection of public safety and security, and even to withdraw the arriving troops.
In light of this development, I urge all Lanny Jaya students throughout Indonesia to act as agents of change by championing social, political, and economic issues relevant to the Lanny Jaya Regency community and playing a significant role in the Lanny Jaya Regency community. Therefore, I urge all student associations and associations in each city to address this issue immediately. Concrete steps must be taken.
1. Each chairperson must create a general group and bring together all Lanny Jaya students and pupils, as well as general field coordinators. The House of Representatives (DPR), the Provincial DPRD, the Regent and Deputy Regent of Lanny Jaya Regency, and the House of Representatives (DPR) from the Papuan Highlands, who are already members of the Indonesian Legislative Assembly (MPR) and the Papuan Mountains People's Consultative Assembly (MPR).
2. Create a Zoom call with the aim of presenting several figures described above. And make a collective decision regarding this special military operation in the Lanny Jaya region without conflict between the TPNPB OPM and the operation! Why is the military overreacting and determining their objectives?
3. If the legislative and executive parliamentary institutions do not accept the Zoom call with students, then the students should immediately arrest the Lanny Jaya government, as they comfortably sit in their seats in the name of the people. Meanwhile, the people suffer from frustration and threats to their activities.
This is a brief overview of the emergency situation in Lanny Jaya Regency.
