PAPUA - The Southern Highlands Students' Union attended the funeral service of their brother, the late Joel Simon, prominent leader of the Enga Student Organization (ENSOH). Their presence was a sign of respect and deep solidarity with the brotherly bond that exists between Enga and Southern Highlands students.
The Southern Highlands Students' Union donated K5,150 to support the funeral service, demonstrating the close and strong bond between them. Joel Simon's sudden and unexpected death has shattered all their plans and dreams. They had hoped to graduate with distinction and make their families proud, but now they must leave him with grief, tears, and heartache, not joy.
The late Joel Simon will be deeply missed by all ENSOH students, the University of Goroka, Kompaim Ambum, Enga Province, and the entire nation. He was like a sturdy Quila tree to them, providing shade, protection, and wisdom. They came to university to earn their degrees, but now it all feels meaningless without the presence of their beloved hero, mentor, and leader.
May the soul of the late Joel Simon rest in eternal peace. The University of Goroka will always remember and miss him, especially during the great gathering of the Enga student association. See you at the glorious gates, when the trumpet sounds to summon them. May God grant peace and strength to the family, tribe, and loved ones left behind.
